CoSmIc

My brother commissioned me to do an abstract painting for him in the style of another artist's work he had which was very cosmic looking. He told me he wanted it to look like he was on a mad fun trip so I took him on a trip to outer space. I maybe made it look a little too cosmic but I think it turned out really well and I'm sad to have to give it away (in exchange for a small fee of course). I used super thick paint and worked with the palette knife on this one which I'm not used to doing. It was a good chance to step outside my comfort zone.

Black Lace

While I was in New York city with my mother, I went to the gallery district for the first time and saw Mark Flood's paintings of lace. Here is my own Mark Flood inspired lace painting. I plan on doing another only much larger.

This painting was tricky to do. I used a spray adhesive to get the lace to stick and some how the glue got all over. After I finished painting I pulled the lace off.

Burning Glances

At the beginning of the summer I began oil painting in the basement of my older brother's house. This is the first painting I did this summer. It's a painting of Italian masks. I wanted to start with something fun and colorful. I experimented with spray paint because I was inspired by Rosson Crow who also uses spray paint and oil.
